Roofing & Exterior Warranties

What our written workmanship warranty and manufacturer warranties cover, how to keep them valid, how to file a claim, and your rights under Connecticut law.

Workmanship warranty

Every project includes a written workmanship warranty from GA Castro Construction that covers installation defects: if something we installed fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it at no cost. The term and coverage are written into your contract before work begins.

Manufacturer warranty

Shingles, siding, gutters, and other materials carry their manufacturer's warranty against product defects. When the manufacturer requires registration, we register it for you. Depending on the manufacturer and product line, extended system warranties may be available.

What warranties do not cover

  • Damage from storms, hail, extreme wind, or falling trees (your homeowner's insurance covers these)
  • Repairs or alterations made by others
  • Lack of maintenance, such as clogged gutters or branches over the roof
  • Existing structural problems that were not part of the contracted work
  • Damage from equipment added later, such as solar panels or antennas, without coordinating with us

How to keep your warranty valid

  • Keep your contract and final invoice
  • Keep gutters clean and check the roof after major storms
  • Call us first if you see a leak or damage
  • Let us know before another contractor works on what we installed

How to file a claim

Call or email us with the project address, the approximate date of the work, and photos of the problem. We schedule an inspection, explain what we find, and repair it if it is covered.

Your rights under Connecticut law

  • We only work under a written contract signed by both parties, with the total price, start and completion dates, and our name, address, and registration number.
  • You have the right to cancel the contract within 3 business days after signing; the cancellation notice comes with your contract.
  • Home improvement contractors must be registered with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, where you can verify the registration.
  • The Connecticut Home Improvement Guaranty Fund may reimburse homeowners for certain losses involving registered contractors.
